They have finally narrowed it down to two candidates...but wait....there is always a twist. Rumors are that the two candidates are ill fitted for the position and that a third nomination may be in store. Who do you ask? Who else but the Sweet King Willie Herenton? Mr. All Purpose!! Do you find yourself thinking about the good ole' days when you could fill up for ten dollars, when gas was $0.89 a gallon, or even when it was $1.75 a gallon (just a few years ago). I remember I was so enraged back then, doesn't seem so bad now. Who would have ever thought that the cost of gas would be more than the cost of a value meal at McDonald's? I'm sure at this point all Americans can agree that Bush has lost his ever-lasting mind, if he believes America can stand yet another year of increasing gas prices. We need to hit the reserves, make peace, something!! You decide!! Memphis do you have a suggestion, opinion, shout out to the cheapest gas stations around town, or just want to rant about the steady rise at the pumps...Here's your chance. Sound Off!!I got one (lol).. Instead of going shopping with those refund checks, head to the nearest Exxon and invest in a gas card.

Urban Fashion Week 2008

Last year was awesome...

This year is going to be OFF DA CHAIN!

The mission and vision of Urban Fashion Week is to create, develop and promote a "true" fashion industry in the city of Memphis. An industry that allows for the growth and empowerment of aspiring designers, retailers, models, make-up artisits, etc. We can do it. We can continue to push forward... as long as we do it together! Ok... I have to be honest about this one. I don't know what the helli s going on with "OUR" team. We just need prayer. We traded away Pau Gasol for what? ... an ice cream cone and a plastic whistel. we didn't get the #1 or the #2 not even the #3 draft pick this year! Come on basketball gods... smile on us. Still, I'll be at the games.

I've been to cities all over the country. I have to give credit where credit is due. Memphis has a great variety of really nice restaurants all over the "M". Let us know if we've missed any. Here are some of my favorites:

Onix - Wings & Finger Food... TRY THE HONEY GOLD! (on South Main St), Jim's Place - Steaks, fine Dining (on Shelby Oaks at Sycamore View), Blu Fin - Sushi Bar (Main st. Trolley Line), Round 1 - Variety Menu / Lobster Tails & Veggies (on Winchester at Kirby), Westy's (was called North End) - Mix of everything... TRY THE BROWNIE! (North Main St), Germantown Commissary - Bar B Que (Poplar and Germantown), There's so many others, but these are wonderful. What's some of your favorites?
